Meals on Wheels is a community service that delivers nutritious meals to your home with the help of volunteers. This services is available to all persons regardless of age or ability. It is a wonderful way for individuals to stay connected to their communities, remain healthy, and live independently, for as long as possible as well as those with a short term need for meals after a hospitalization/surgery.
Meals on Wheels has been delivering nutritious meal for over 37 years. Our friendly volunteers have had a background check to provide you peace of mind, and a connection with the community.
Community volunteers deliver meals at lunchtime, Monday through Friday. You may choose hot meals, fresh, frozen or a combination. Frozen meals are delivered once a week. Hot or fresh meals are delivered daily. Special diets are available including, but not limited to, diabetic, low cholesterol, gluten free, and renal. Each meal provides a minimum of 1/3 of the current daily recommended dietary allowances.
A typical meal includes a main entrée with a protein (meat) and 2 vegetables (possibly a side salad), a beverage choice of 1% milk or juice, bread, and dessert. All meals come with condiments to complete the meal.
Meals are provided at a reduced rate due to generous donations from participants, foundations, and the wider community, and also through support of the White Bear Lake Area School District, Consortium of Lake Area Senior Services, Ramsey County, Metro Meals on Wheels, local Lions Clubs and others.

If you're 55 or older, get a discount on your personal auto insurance and improve your driving skills! The Defensive Driving Course, developed by the National Safety Council, teaches basic crash prevention techniques and has a proven record of reducing traffic violations and incidents. It's taught by experienced, professional traffic safety instructors, including officers of the Minnesota State Patrol. The class consists of lecture, films and discussions. There are no behind-the-wheel driving and there are no tests.
According to Minnesota state law, people age 55 and older who complete a state-approved defensive driving course are eligible to receive a 10 percent, three-year discount on auto insurance. After your class, you will receive a certificate of completion to give to your insurance company.
8-Hour Full Course: Drivers 55 +years old and can receive a 10% discount on their car insurance.
4-Hour Refresher Course: For those who have completed the full course and need a refresher. The refresher classes in needed every 3 years.
Come and enjoy the many activities and services provided at the White Bear Area Senior Center. We are dedicated to providing learning opportunities for people of all ages. Also, visit our Craft Corner, Lending Library, and Puzzle Library when you stop by.

Your health insurance plan may participate in the program. Contact your provider to find out about payment. SilverSneakers and One Pass applies to one facility only.
Qualifying members receive a free Senior Center Membership, along with free participation in any Get Up & Go Fitness classes.

If you are 50+ years of age or a disabled adult, you can sell your items in our shop. A small portion of sales is donated to the senior program, the rest is paid to the consignee.
